In the Netherlands, people are vaccinated against 13 infectious diseases. The overview offers links to information about the vaccines that are being used. It includes information about the side effects, why vaccinations are given at specific ages, and what the vaccines contain. In addition, you can read more about what to do when travelling abroad and when you should not have your child vaccinated.

When to get each vaccination?

* Only if the mother has not been vaccinated against whooping cough during pregnancy (maternal whooping cough vaccination), and in special situations. The doctor from the well-baby clinic will discuss this with you.

** Children born between 1 January 2016 and the end of 2021 will receive the 2nd MMR vaccination at the age of 5 to 9 years. Check when your child can get the 2nd MMR injection.
